The Parish of Wood Green is in the East Haringey Deanery of the Edmonton Area

the london borough of Haringey
Haringey is one of London's 32 boroughs, located in the north of the capital, and approximately 11.5 square miles in area. Almost half of its 224,300 people come from ethnic minority backgrounds, including Greek and Turkish Cypriot, African, Caribbean, Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi, Irish and Chinese.
The people of Haringey speak a total of over 160 different languages.

It has been said that Haringey is an outer London borough with inner London challenges. It ranks as one of the most deprived boroughs in the country, with 7.5% of the population unemployed in July 2005, double the national average. But an injection of funding from Europe and central Government is financing urban regeneration projects, boosting the local economy and creating local jobs for the people who live here.

A Pastoral Scheme (1982), brought together and joined the former parishes of  St Michael, Wood Green with St Gabriel, Bounds Green & St Michael-at-Bowes, making the present Parish.

The missionary and evangelistic work of the parish today centres around the two church buildings which serve the parish - St Michael, Wood Green and St Michael-at-Bowes.
