ORDINARY TIME

Mark's Gospel puts an upsetting and paradoxical Jesus before us.
Jesus is rugged and exacting, very human, but somehow always escaping the grasp
of his disciples and his family. (The Messianic Secret)
To understand his secret one must take the time to follow along the often
unforeseen paths he chose or even the solitary way which led to Calvary
and the scandal of death on the cross.
There was revealed his true personality and the meaning of his coming among us.

A Roman centurion recognised him, and in that way became the first of believers and their model.
He cried out: 'In truth this man was a son of God!' Mark 15:39.
